8-Sunday Night Football.
10-Chicago Med. Give the latest installment in the Chicago franchise the best time slot possible, having one Chicago show each night Monday-Wednesday.
9-The Neil Patrick Harris Show. Sketch comedy and NBC can’t really make other comedies work out of The Voice. Originally scheduled here in my first draft were two witch-driven-themed comedies, they don’t look good in my opinion so I’m scratching that idea.
8-Untitled Siegal and Morgan Project. single-camera comedy about a middle-aged ad executive who unexpectedly who loses his job and cobbles together a ragtag team to launch his own grassroots agency from his garage. Yes, they have another project going as well, and I’m trusting them to save NBC’s comedy situation. NBC needs to get back to what it does best: workplace comedies. This is the next best time to slot them as counter programming to ABC’s family night, since Thursday needs to be out of the question, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday already are.
8:30-Wendy & Peter. a workplace romantic comedy told from the point of view of Wendy, a woman who wants to find love with a real man, but finds herself falling for Peter, who refuses to fully embrace adulthood. This combines the workplace aspect with which NBC excels, with the rom-com part that they seemingly like to do.
9-Law & Order: SVU . Final season, possibly have a “Chicago Law” take over. I see the point of some thinking SVU should move to Friday, but I think the aforementioned option is a much smoother transition to the time slot.
8-Game of Silence. drama about a rising attorney on the brink of spectacular success who could lose his perfect life when his long-lost childhood friends threaten to expose a dark secret from their violent past . I would much rather see a sketch/variety show here, but since I don’t see anything in the pilots maybe they could save Neil Patrick Harris for midseason, and have Game of Silence, which has practically been picked up already, a chance to start off a night revolving around the Blacklist.
10-Shades of Blue. drama about a single mother and detective recruited to work undercover for the FBI’s anti-corruption task force. Already has a blind 13-episode order. I originally had this behind The Voice, but Blacklist works too :). Retracts my initial idea to pick up Endgame.
9-The Mysteries of Laura. Having this show on the schedule is a real toss-up to me, and its fate may or may not depend on what happens to SVU. But here at least it will have a lead-in, and it’s becoming useless to premiere a new show on Friday.
10-Dateline NBC. They can’t make anything work here, so why not just try to give 20/20 a run for its money? Maybe Hannibal can take over midseason and Dateline can move to Sunday at 7.
Midseason: Manhunt, Tuned, Undateable, The Biggest Loser, Hollywood Game Night, American Ninja Warrior, Hannibal, Celebrity Apprentice, and more.
