This will be left abstract: Contrary to popular belief, renewals and cancellation decisions have to do with estimated future ratings rather than past ratings. Networks may have access to statistical models to help in the process, but I have found a different, not related to math, formula adapted from another person’s studies. It is as follows:
1) Take into consideration genre, theme, duration.
2) Take into consideration enviornmental factors such as the weather.
3) Take into consideration audience reception. Make sure the sample audience studied is diverse in age, race, and gender.
